Build a More Connected Team

Experiential Team Building Through Trust, Communication, Play & Flow

Peace Sticks Team-Building brings people together through movement, music, mindfulness, collaborative challenge, and human connection.

Your team doesn’t just talk about collaboration.

They experience it.

Participants practice communication, adaptability, trust, focus, and shared flow through an engaging experience built around one simple principle:

Collaboration Over Competition

No athletic experience required. Activities can be adapted for different abilities and levels of physical comfort.

Trusted by Organizations & Communities

Peace Sticks has been shared with organizations including:

Texas Capital Bank • Nutiva • Sustainable Brands • Imlak’esh Organics

A Different Kind of Team Building

Being part of the same organization doesn’t necessarily mean people feel connected.

Stress, communication challenges, departmental separation, burnout, and the pressure to perform can all interfere with teamwork.

Peace Sticks gives people an opportunity to step outside those patterns.

People move.

They laugh.

They make mistakes.

They adapt.

They help one another.

And they experience what successful collaboration actually feels like.

What Is Peace Sticks?

Peace Sticks is a collaborative flow-state practice combining movement, music, awareness, communication, and human connection through an interactive game of throwing and catching sticks.

There are no winners and losers.

Instead, participants work together to create and sustain flow.

The questions become:

How present can we become?

How clearly can we communicate?

How well can we respond to change?

How quickly can we recover from mistakes?

How much flow can we create together?

The activity is playful.

The lessons can be profound.

From Competition to Collaboration

Peace Sticks invites teams to explore a different paradigm:

Competition → Collaboration

Separation → Community

Fear → Flow

Participants practice:

  • Trust

  • Communication

  • Adaptability

  • Shared focus

  • Listening

  • Leadership

  • Reciprocity

  • Creative problem-solving

  • Recovery from mistakes

  • Awareness of self and others

Instead of asking:

“Who won?”

We begin asking:

“How well did we work together?”

What Your Team Can Gain

Stronger Trust

Participants rely on one another and experience mutual support in real time.

Better Communication

The practice develops listening, responsiveness, awareness, and nonverbal communication.

Greater Adaptability

Mistakes become opportunities to adjust, communicate, and continue rather than blame.

Increased Presence & Focus

The activity naturally draws people into full engagement with the present moment.

Access to Flow

Participants experience the relationship between awareness, relaxation, communication, skill, and flow state.

Greater Well-Being

Movement, breathing, music, laughter, play, and human connection provide an opportunity to reset and recharge.

A Stronger Sense of Belonging

People connect outside of their normal workplace roles and experience one another in a more human way.

How It Works

1. Consultation

We begin by learning about your team, company culture, goals, challenges, group size, and desired outcomes.

2. Grounding & Connection

Participants begin with simple breathing, movement, awareness, and intention-setting practices.

3. Partner & Group Practice

Teams learn Peace Sticks through rhythm, coordination, communication, movement, and collaborative play.

4. Collaborative Challenges

Participants practice adapting, problem-solving, recovering from mistakes, and supporting one another.

5. Reflection & Integration

Using the Way of the Circle and Talking Stick, participants reflect on what they experienced and how the lessons apply to communication, leadership, teamwork, conflict, creativity, and workplace culture.

More Than a One-Time Activity

Peace Sticks can be a memorable team-building experience, but it can also become an ongoing organizational practice.

For companies interested in deeper integration, we offer additional training for a small core group within the organization so elements of the practice can continue internally.

Organizations can also purchase Peace Sticks for continued use during:

  • Team meetings

  • Retreats

The experience doesn’t have to end when the workshop does.

Designed for Real People

You don’t need to be athletic.

You don’t need juggling experience.

You don’t need to be coordinated.

In fact, dropping the sticks is part of the practice.

The goal isn’t perfection.

The goal is connection.

Shine Rilling is the creator of Peace Sticks and its collaborative flow-state methodology.

For more than a decade, Shine has facilitated experiences designed to help individuals and groups cultivate greater connection, awareness, communication, movement, and well-being.

His background includes corporate team building, group facilitation, mindfulness and movement practices, emotional intelligence, martial arts, community building, and the study of biology, psychology, and philosophy.

His work explores a simple question:

What becomes possible when human beings move beyond separation and learn to create together?

Inner Peace. Outer Peace. World Peace.

When individuals become more present within themselves, they are better able to connect with others.

When people connect with others, teams and communities become stronger.

The practice begins simply:

Two people.
Two sticks.

One shared intention to work together.

From there, something much larger can grow.
